Fostering innovation in Europe: introducing the KnowledgeAnalytics project

In today’s ever-evolving landscape of healthcare and well-being, successful collaboration and innovation are critical. However, for digital transformation to be truly sustainable, it must start with regional innovation strategies supported by the respective policy instrument. In this transnational project and in the region of Päijät-Häme, the policy instrument is innovation, and skills in Finland 2021–2027 (Valtioneuvosto 2021).

This is where the KnowledgeAnalytics project comes in (Päijät-Hämeen liitto 2024). Spearheaded by LAB University of Applied Sciences, this initiative is all set to kickstart in spring 2024, and it promises to be a game-changer in driving regional innovation strategies forward through the respective policy instrument. The project will enhance conditions for the development of the regional innovation value chain orchestrated by LAB University of Applied Sciences.

Opportunities for welltech domain

The KnowledgeAnalytics project aims to bridge the gap between regional authorities responsible for promoting innovations within the region. The project will focus on the power of artificial intelligence and how the data from different databases, e.g., research publications and patent databases etc. can be harnessed for knowledge transfer to corroborate regional collaboration and growth. Through meticulous analysis, it aims to unearth untapped opportunities for innovation and value addition within the welltech domain specifically orchestrated by LAB Welltech (LABWelltech 2024).

Empowering welltech startups through the policy instrument

This project aims to revolutionize the way to promote the implementation of regional innovation strategies through the elaboration of the respective regional policy instrument. By elaborating the instrument, it empowers regional authorities and tech startups dedicated to crafting technology-based solutions that improve people’s health and well-being. Through the targeted funding and resources of the regional policy instrument, LAB-orchestrated innovation value chain can co-create a thriving ecosystem that fosters innovation and unlocks the full potential of this industry.

The KnowledgeAnalytics project isn’t limited to national borders. It serves as a beacon of collaboration, drawing together RDI organizations from Finland, Spain, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. This diverse consortium brings together a wealth of perspectives, enriching the innovation process and fostering cross-cultural fertilization of ideas. The KnowledgeAnalytics project promises to unlock new frontiers in welltech innovation and is driven by the conviction that the consortium can create a fertile ground for technological innovations in health and well-being.
